Fire season returned to Northern California early this year. Or, rather, fire season has disappeared because wildfires are becoming a year-round event in this disaster Disneyland. Over a thousand fires are burning in the state at the moment, and the San Francisco bay area has been swaddled in a smoky photochemical blanket for over a week. The National Weather Service even has a new forecast icon for smoky weather — picture below. And the days live up to the warning, serving up a wan orange-tinged soup worthy of Malaysia during burning season. No shortage of dramatic skies that are even stranger than last year’s fire season.
